By the time we made it down to Italy, Baby Girl had had it. I mean, she was done and she let us know it all day every day. The combination of the heat, always being in a carseat or stroller, and bad naps turned her into a cranky little child who we found most likable when passed out. That being said, I'm still so happy we brought her along, and nothing can really ruin Venice. Come on, it's Venice.
We ate lunch at a restaurant right on the river under the famous Rialto Bridge. The pizza was good but the view was incredible. San Marco Square was cool but I missed all the pigeons. It's now illegal to feed the birds so they aren't there in the masses anymore. We put our map away and basically wandered the city until we felt sufficiently lost and satisfied, seeing a little more of the real Venice (poop on the streets and all). It was way pretty, but definitely just worth an afternoon in my opinion.
