37 weeks

20 days!
I'm so excited, but I've been having the worst anxiety.
I keep stressing out that my water is going to break on TRAX (wouldn't that be lovely?).
Or that I'll have this baby on the way to the hospital (don't say it won't happen; it just did like three days ago on I-215).
And every other crazy scenario I can think of.
Please, someone just tell me everything is going to be alright!

cooling my sausage toes

It is hot.

I'm 36+ weeks pregnant.

And my ankles are starting to swell (notice how I left them out of the picture?)

I love my neighbor's--the Bachers--backyard, and they are so awesome to let me cool off in their pool.

By the way, what is up with the weird tan line on my feet? It looks like I'm wearing flip flops.

pretty pink backyard baby shower

Dani and a few friends from my ward threw me the best baby shower ever.
I love the vintage/ pink/ homemade look. LOVE!

One of my favorite gifts was a music "box" from my Nanni that plays Tchaikovsky. I put it against my belly so baby girl could dance. No seriously, I actually do that on a regular basis. I don't know if she can hear yet, but I play classical music on my belly for her. Nerd.

I also love the quilt my aunt made baby girl. MADE, not bought. She is amazing.

(A special thanks to Jen Bacher and Dani for the beautiful photography.)

Johnny was so happy to be among all of the pink things and women. He was a good sport.

there's no shame in dancing with a belly

Dani and Bryan came to Utah for his brother's wedding, which was so much fun to go to. Don't you love those weddings where you actually want to stay and dance and wait until the end to leave, versus the ones where you just stand in line, eat some cake, then high tail it outta there?

We saw Mr. Ward--love him.
Lenny Jones tore up the dance floor.
Jett even let me slow dance with him, despite my huge belly poking him in the face the whole time!
And yes, when there was one of those "dance circles" on the dance floor, I jumped in with my baby belly and made a fool of myself. It was fantastic.

look who can double surf

This weekend Dani and Bryan came to Utah!
They were super busy, but we managed to squeeze in a few hours at the lake.
I was so impressed at their double surfing. And it was very entertaining to watch the trial runs--they were pretty funny!
I wish they lived here, or that Johnny and I lived in New York. I miss them so much!

a stroll at the farmers' market

The farmers' market is one of my absolute favorite parts of summer.
Maybe we'll see you there next week?!

homemade pinwheel crib mobile

This weekend I've been "nesting," or whatever it's called.
I made this fun pinwheel crib mobile for baby girl with leftover ribbon from an Anthropologie bag, a cheap needlepoint ring, and a few pieces of scrapbook paper.
Total cost: $9.26

35 weeks

Almost there! As of today, I have 32 days left until we get to meet baby girl.
So excited!

farmers' market

This morning we went to the farmers' market in SLC.
I love all of the fresh produce, dog friends for Daisy, and the old fashion-looking stands.
It kind of makes me want to live in the country, or have a bake sale, or something else domestic-y :)

life according to my iPhone

Yesterday we went boating at Utah Lake with my family (even Dani and Bryan!).
Johnny surfed and Baby Girl and I were great moral support (I don't think surfing is a good idea at 35 weeks pregnant.)

I also experienced Asian Star for the first time, and it did not disappoint. My grandma, aunt, cousins, and sister are in town so we had a ladies lunch.
The coconut walnut chicken is amazing!

And lastly, free ice cream at work is always a good day.

lake powell 2011

I wish I could live on Lake Powell. Last week my family went on our annual trip; it was awesome.
Being pregnant actually wasn't a problem at all, as I spent the week lounging and cooling my little sausage toes in the water.
I love the picture below of Jett riding our mom down the water slide.
And how about the hottie with the mullet braid?! (Thank you, Rylie, for wearing that wig to the marina. You are awesome.)
We found some really beautiful slot canyons, ate yummy ice cream at Dangling Rope, and my sister and her friends even let me--an uncool pregnant lady--hang out with them :)
I'm sad Johnny couldn't come, but he was being studious. Stupid organic chemistry.
