Working for LDS Living is a dream job. I can't believe I get paid to write fun articles for the magazine and website. But probably the best part of my job is reading through all of the comments we get from readers. With the promise of anonymity, people feel entitled to say whatever they want. They say some pretty judgmental, obnoxious, hilarious things when it comes to LDS hot topics. If you're ever bored, go read the comment threads for one of these articles:
I wrote Is Twilight Appropriate? a few days ago and it, too, has an awesome comment thread. But it also has the BEST comment I have ever read. Enjoy.
"Break out the popcorn! This thread is more entertaining than the 'Are Leggings Modest?' thread! But we've got a lot of work to do if we are going to get to the level of crazy that the Harry Potter thread reached. So, we're going to need a lot more people to selectively quote scriptures and general authorities with random capitalizations, and then we are going to need a few (I SAID A FEW) people to talk about how reading books about Vampires will lead young women to satanism. Then we are going to need some level-headed few to call the previous posters out for being hyper-judgmental. And lastly, someone to point out that your daughters are going to see it whether you approve or not, so you might as well have it on your terms. Then, repeat!"
