over the hump

We're halfway through dental school and we have a party to prove it! UOP throws a big Over the Hump party every year for all of the second year students and we had the best time dressing up and going out without kids!

little girl tea party

^^ Our good friends are moving to London today so a few girlfriends threw a goodbye tea party. It was the most charming, wonderful party and I'm hoping to have one for the moms in the future...yes?! I would even love to eat star-shaped sandwiches and dress up in a frilly dress, too. Larsons, you will be missed! (And Megan and Danielle, you two are incredible.) ^^

birthday bash

^^ What do you mean I don't have a baby anymore?! Pipsqueak is two and all toddler ... sniff sniff. I guess I just need to have another baby right away--oh, wait, have you seen my motherhood posts? I need at least another month or so.

Pipsqueak was spoiled rotten by her loved ones, and I was just grateful for an excuse to eat the giant donut/cake from Bob's. On a side note: Does anyone else have a hard time mustering the energy to throw a birthday party two weeks after Christmas? I did this last year, too, and again felt guilty at the last minute and threw a small party together. Yeesh, motherhood guilt. My poor last child won't even know what a birthday party is. ^^

ugly christmas sweaters

^^ Johnny and I threw an ugly sweater Christmas party for his school friends, and I do believe a new tradition has been born in our house. We had a contest for the ugliest and these three beauties above were our winning ensemble. They were well-deserving winners, indeed. ^^

^^ This is my "ugly excited face" when opening my white elephant gift, the book Go the F*#k to Sleep. I actually secretly wanted this children's book and was so happy to snatch it up. It was stolen from me a couple of times but Johnny won it back for me in the end. Woo hoo! It's funny though because I've actually already re-gifted it.^^

^^ Before Johnny and I were dating I went to a college party he hosted at a condo in Park City and he was wearing these long johns and winter boots. I thought, "Who the heck is this goofy guy?" Jokes on me, people. Jokes on me. ^^

a day of love

I'm definitely one to use every holiday as an excuse for a party, so our Valentine's Day was full of surprises, parties, presents, and food, naturally! Here's a list of my favorites:

1. Sewing these little dolls for my dolls. Also, I made my nephew a rabbit but Munchkin snatched him up, named him, and added him to her entourage of friends. (I'm making another one, Dani, don't worry.)
2. Watching Pipsqueak take her first steps!
3. We threw a sweet and savory crepe party for our friends. New tradition?!
4. Visiting Johnny at school on Valentine's Day to heart attack his locker and have lunch with him.
5. Knowing we have the best family in the world who also thinks Valentine's Day should be celebrated with a few goodies in the mail. Thank you!
6. Johnny gave me a 10 cup food processor! If it sounds lame, you must not understand how much I love food. It was the best present ever.

pipsqueak's first birthday

^^ Our little Pipsqueak turned one last weekend! We celebrated with an impromptu party because I was feeling the pangs of parental guilt that I threw Munchkin a first birthday party and was thinking about not having one for Pipsqueak, too. There's nothing like guilt that can get a job done! But I'm so glad we did because look how happy it made her. ^^

^^ Her friends had more fun opening the presents than Pipsqueak! We are so blessed to have so many great friends here in San Francisco. ^^

^^ We also celebrated at Birite Creamery, which I've been hearing yummy things about. It lived up to the hype and had some pretty sweet flavors served by an array of hipster college students. I'm pretty sure you have to have big glasses, part of your head shaved, and tattoos to work there. I will never be that cool, but I will gladly eat ice cream served by said hipsters. ^^

birthday girl turns 2

^^ I can't believe our little Munchkin is two years old. We threw her a fun little party with some neighborhood friends. She has been waiting for this day for weeks, seriously. She sings herself the happy birthday song every day, has been patiently waiting to open the presents that Mummsie sent way too early for a two-year-old (Munchkin did manage to open one early), and that cake was on lockdown in the fridge until the party because I caught a few finger licks in the frosting. It was such a great day and I'm so grateful to have friends to share it with. I can't wait for our next excuse to throw a party and have everyone back over again! ^^

^^ Strawberry Lemonade Cake recipe to come. Holy cannoli, this recipe is a keeper. ^^

^^ Her smile cracks me up. It's only slightly mischievous. ^^

^^ This photo was actually taken before the party. Such party animals. ^^
