All Hallow's Eve

Our dramatic rendition of Phantom and Christine.

This Halloween Johnny and I had the best party costumes ever but absolutely nowhere to go and show them off. We ended up just passing out candy at my mom's house, how dull. With costumes like these we should have been invited to the party at the governor's mansion! (I just made that up, I don't even know if there was a party at the governor's, but if there was, we should have been invited). Next year I think we'll be Hansel and Grettle. With leiderhosen. And tights.

So I went to DC last week for a journalism conference paid for by BYU and pretty much had the best week ever. Not only was it free, but I went shopping, visited the Smithsonians, hung out with my awesome nephews and ate at a place named Johnny's that played 50s music and served the creamiest milkshakes ever. Pretty good week.

San Francisco

China town ~ I look very American

So Johnny and I decided to randomly hop on a plane one Saturday morning and fly to San Francisco for the afternoon. And don't worry, we woke up at 8:00 a.m. and the plane took off at 8:45 a.m., but thanks to Johnny's mad (but very safe, mom, if you're reading this) driving skills, we made it.

Upon arriving in the foggy city we set off for House of Nanking, a local Chinese restaurant that is all the rave, and honestly, the real reason why we flew hundreds of miles across the country: food of course! So it was amazing. We handed our menus back to the little old Chinese man and told him to order for us. He nodded in his great wisdom and proceeded to feed us the best food that has ever been cooked in a wak. Seriously.

We then ran around the city like mad trying to see whatever we could in the few hours we had left before our plane back to Salt Lake left. It was a crazy day, the most fun we've had in our few weeks of marriage!

Our wedding

We have a blog!

It's official; we are now part of the cool club called "bloggers." Just watch, our blog is going to become an overnight sensation and everyone across the country will be reading the life and times of Johnny and Ashley over their daily dose of Starbucks. Haha, yeah, right. Only our family will read it. So here we are, this is our fantastic life full of absolutely nothing!
